Carrying the Work Forward
A Resident-Led Transition into Our Next Chapter
WHY NOW?
The original Implementation Committee completed its two-year service term. To keep momentum strong, we are expanding leadership, strengthening structure, and inviting more residents into decision-making.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Residents of West End & Visitation Park who are ready to show up, participate consistently, and serve their neighborhood through structured leadership.
WHERE ARE WE NOW?
Current committee members serve during a six-month transition phase.
FAQ’S
Is this paid? Governance,Chair Subcommittee,Subcommittee Members and DRC roles are primarily volunteer leadership positions and may include incentives depending on role scope.
Is the current committee ending? No. The current committee serves as a six-month Interim Table. Current members may reapply so leadership is filled fairly and with community support.
Why applications and background checks? Leadership roles require responsibility. Vetting supports transparency and community trust.
How long is the commitment?
• Leaders serve 2-year terms
• A capacity evaluation takes place at Year 1 to ensure continued alignment and sustainability
• If the role is no longer a fit, members may withdraw with a 45–60 day written notice to support a smooth transition
• Four (4) missed meetings results in automatic inactive status.
Carrying the Work Forward requires consistency, accountability, and shared responsibility.

Let's spark the love of reading among the children in our community!
We're extremely fortunate to have the Ready Readers Program launch in the West End/Visitation Park communities.
Moving forward we need full community support to make this program successful. Please refer to this flyer for an opportunity to become a paid neighborhood reading captain.
The Mission of Ready Readers: To expand literacy for young children in low-income communities through high-quality books, strong relationships, and literacy related experience.
Thank you for COLLABorating!
